Start an application automatically.
You may want certain programs to start every time you turn on or restart your computer.
To start an application with Windows:
- Click here
to open the Taskbar Properties dialog box.
- Click the Start Menu Programs tab.
- Click Add.
The Create Shortcut dialog box appears.
- Click Browse.
The Browse dialog box appears.
- Locate and click the application that you want to start automatically when Windows starts.
- Click Open
The Browse dialog box closes.
- Click Next.
The Select Program Folder dialog box appears.
- Click the StartUp folder.
- Click Next.
The Select a Title dialog box appears.
- Enter a name for the Shortcut.
- Click Finish.
- Click OK to close the Taskbar Properties dialog box.
Your selected application now starts automatically when Windows starts.
If the program you are adding to the Start Menu does not have an icon associated with it, you must select one before clicking Finish.
To select an icon:
- Click Next.
The Select an icon dialog box appears.
- Click an icon image.
